School of Health Studies, University of Bradford

The Horton A Block was erected in the 1960s and was one of a number of campus buildings from this era that were very energy inefficient. In 2011, the building was extended, refurbished and reclad in order to create state of the art accommodation for the School of Health Studies.

The £6.5m project meets a very challenging energy consumption brief, boasting high thermal mass, very low air tightness, combined with controlled solar gain and excellent daylighting to occupied rooms.
