This £10m, 3 storey building project included the renovation and conversion of a grade II listed building into new educational facilities along with a new-build teaching block, library and glazed atrium link.

Sustainability was a key element of the project.  It was designed to be a low energy and low carbon building, incorporating Insitu concrete sandwich panels to form the outer walls, giving high levels of mass insulation and a final air-tightness value of 1.95 air changes per hour. In addition, the terma deck flooring system integrated the structural solution with the ventilation design.

The Sir Titus Salt building was the winner of the RICS Pro Yorkshire Sustainability Award 2011.
